Smurfs movie coming out in 3-D
The Smurfs is based on a Belgian comic series originally, then taken over by the brilliant Hannah-Barbera animation studios (see Joe Barbera in our Gallery featuring some of our past clients), running in syndication today on the Boomerang Network. A first 3-D movie is coming out next year, The Smurfs – those little blue guys and one girl (starring John Lithgow and Julia Sweeney voiceovers), is the first of a planned “Smurfs Movie” trilogy. Most of the cartoons Barbera and Hanna created revolved around close friendship or partnership.
Avatar, and Smurfs, are uplifting fantasy animation, both have blue creatures living in a mythic land. Childcare involves knowing the best toons to entertain kids imaginations. Smurfology is a collaborative website about the Hanna-Barbera cartoon show, which aired on Saturday mornings from 1981 to 1990.
